Where are Polar Lands?
Polar lands are located at the North and South Poles. The Arctic Circle is located at 66.5 degrees north latitude while the Antarctic Circle is located at 66.5 degrees south latitude. The reason why the poles are located where they are is due to the earths tilt.
The Arctic polar region is the entire area that surrounds the north pole. This land is claimed by the United States, Denmark, Canada, Norway and Russia. This polar land has an abundant human settlement, especially in Alaska, Greenland and Siberia. It is also home to an estimated 4 million indigenous natives that live in the north polar region.
The Antarctic Polar region surrounds the south pole. It is made up of the continent Antarctica and the Southern Ocean. Antarctica has no human settlement but there are thousands of researchers at exploration bases.
